Maria Pomeroy
I have always been acutely aware of how a space makes me feel – expanded and content, or unsettled and contracted. For me, simple beautiful surroundings make me feel good and bring a sense of peace and calm. I am happiest when the eyesight is extended out to the garden and beyond, to water, greenery and sky - it just feels good.
It is with this that creates my ‘WHY’. Why I love to design, why I love to see clients lit up, why I love connection with nature, and why I like to collaborate with companies who have complimenting synergies.
Now drawn towards biophilic design, not a new trend, but one that concentrates on bringing natural elements found outside into view, maximising existing views, making spaces breathable, re-energising and relaxing.

“My husband and I have built and renovated quite a few houses over the years. Since the children have left home and we want to downsize we have bought a smaller section and will build a small house just for ourselves. I wanted this house to be our own unique style so we have bought Maria in to keep us focused and guide us in keeping the style that we really like. So far in 5 weeks we have our kitchen cabinets, bench tops,handles, glass for cabinets and tiles all sorted with gorgeous lights for over the breakfast bar, plus we have touch on carpet colours, Rugs, and wallpaper. The style is rustic farm yard with a modern twist, and something easy care, for a growing family (grandchildren and our large dog). Maria has been a sheer delight to work with.
